Teresa Tarragó, PhD, MBA
PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Barcelona and Executive MBA from ESADE. After completing her Ph.D. she joined the group of Design, Synthesis and Structure of Peptides and Proteins led by Prof. Ernest Giralt’s at the Institute of Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) where she was in charge of drug discovery research lines focused on identification of new drugs for therapeutically relevant targets involved in cognition, diabetes and cancer.
From 2006 to 2015 she was a Research Associate at IRB Barcelona where she directed national and international research projects and led the technology transfer of her research resulting in creation of Iproteos spin-off company in 2011. Dr. Tarragó was co-founder and CEO of Iproteos (2013-2019), a company that develops drugs for CNS and cancer diseases.
Then in 2020, she was co-founder and CEO of the biotechnology company Beyond You. She is currently member of the Board of Directors of the pharmaceutical company Accure Therapeutics and Business Advisor of many technology transfer units at universities and research institutes. Along her professional career she has received many awards, such us Best Biotechnology Project (EXPOQUIMIA Award, 2014) and named Top 10 European Biotech Entrepreneurs (by #Labiotech.eu, 2019), highlighting her innovation and entrepreneurial mindset.
